Makeup.
Picture 4 different women: a New York trial attorney, a stay-at-home mom of three, a high school drama student, and an owner of a small landscaping company. What is something they might all have in common? Makeup - what else??? If you are reading this, then you too, are one of us- women who use makeup, love to buy makeup, love to play with makeup, and are simply OBSESSED with makeup! What else comes in such a beautiful array of colors, textures, and pretty containers? What else can perk us up so quickly?
Did you used to sneak into your mom or older sister’s vanity and try on her lipstick? Did you used to have fun at sleepover parties braiding your friends’ hair and doing makeovers? Do you ever find yourself wondering who gets the cool job of coming up with all those creative names for the colors of eye shadow or blush? Can buying yourself a new lipgloss turn a horrible day into a happier one?
See, for so many of us, makeup and beauty products are so much more products to enhance our natural looks. They are ways that we can express ourselves - both our individuality and our similiarity with others. They are a creative outlet for us. Unless we work in an artistic field, many of us don’t have many other opportunites to work creatively with colors and textures on a daily basis. Makeup can also be a small indulgence - something that makes us feel pampered for the sake of just being good to ourselves. For these reasons, and so many others, makeup is a subject matter worth discussion!
I certainly know that there are plenty of places online to discuss, research, and purchase beauty products. I’ve certainly been to many of them, and the choices can be overwhelming. I never found exactly everything I wanted in a single place, though. So I decided to create the place that I wanted and share it with others. Here you’ll find a great user-friendly board on which to connect with others sharing your passion for makeup, skincare, bath and body and hair products. After registering a username, you cannot only post on the boards, but you’ll have the opportunity to have your own blog (which you can restrict to private, invited members only, or share with anyone and everyone). You’ll also have a picture gallery space where you can upload pictures of your FOTD(face of the day) or latest makeup shopping haul. There’s also a social networking component within your control panel that will allow you to create private groups, friends lists and more. Coming very soon will be review boards where you can rate and review products. And of course, check out the editor’s blog for all my latest musings on favorite products, new makeup trends and more.
So thank you so much for stopping by. We’re glad you found us, and we’ll hope you’ll stay awhile and help us create a great user-driven community where women can enjoy chatting together about — makeup!
